Jeopardy! viewers are predicting a “crazy fast” contestant will end up in the Tournament of Champions.

During the November 13 episode of the hit NBC game show, Harrison Whitaker, a researcher originally from Terre Haute, Indiana, went up against Sheila Collins, an attorney from San Jose, California, and David Lewis, a subterranean tour guide from Seattle, Washington.

At the beginning of the episode, Harrison was already a two-day champ of Jeopardy! with winnings of $59,801 after defeating a four-day champion. He quickly proved he has the knowledge to make it to the tournament, but viewers noticed he had another skill that aided his third victory later on. They think his “crazy” speed on the buzzer allowed him to answer most of the questions first.

Taking to the subReddit discussion board for the episode, one person wrote in amazement, “Harrison must be crazy fast on the buzzer.” Another predicted, “The Way This Streak Is Going For Harrison, He Might End Up In Next Year’s ToC!”

A third added, “Another steamroll by Harrison… by God fatigue probably won’t happen to him. Great player! Again, I’ll be watching his University Challenge games to see how he also cruises across the pond.” A fourth joked, “What is on a roll? Mustard, ketchup, mayo or Harrison?”

On X, formerly Twitter, one person wrote, “Yes, Harrison demolished the competition again, but he’ll never live down answering ‘hummingbird’ when the clue was asking for a ‘mammal.'”

A second chimed in, “Wow Harrison he just keeps pouring it on the on yesterday show got 35 correct answers number one of the season 2025 and he just keeps chugging along today Very impressive Ken he would give you a little bit of run for your money.”

Harrison has garnered a lot of attention since he defeated four-day champion Allegra Kuney in his first game this week. He isn’t just fast on the buzzer, though. He’s a fast talker, something some fans have complained about.

In Double Jeopardy, Harrison almost doubled his earnings when he found the first DD. He had $21,000 and wagered $2,000. In Opposites, the clue was “It’s an antonym of fearful; you can also get a less-used antonym of it just by dropping the initial ‘in.'” He hesitated before saying, “What is invincible?” but was wrong. The correct response was intrepid. Harrison dropped down to $19,000.

Two clues later, he found the last DD. He had $21,000 again and wagered $2,000. In A tract, the clue read, “The title of this tract by Thomas Paine is found within the title of an August 1789 French declaration.” He answered fast, “What is The Rights of Man?”

“Can you say that again?” host Ken Jennings asked. Harrison repeated himself, and he was correct, earning $23,00. Harrison had $30,600 by the end of Double Jeopardy.

The category for Final Jeopardy was “Civil War Veterans.” The clue read, “12 years before his death out West, he led a charge at the Battle of Trevilian Station in 1864.” The correct response was George Custer, which all three contestants scored right. Harrison wagered $1,400, giving him a final total of $32,000. This gave Whitaker his third win and a three-day total of $91,801.

In the Facebook group, Jeopardy Fan Group (per TV Insider), some fans complained they couldn’t understand what he is saying. “He is very fast on the buzzer. And he talks so fast, I sometimes don’t know what he said! Very smart guy. He may be around a while,” one fan wrote.

“I agree with you. He talks too fast,” replied a fan as a third added, “Yes! He talks too fast for me, too!” A fourth said, “Agree – he talks/answers way too fast, making his answer difficult to understand.”

Others chimed in, “Just talks too fast. Very hard to watch. I am missing a lot of answers,” and “It’s very annoying. He’s even too fast for closed captioning.”
