Alright, it’s my birthday show and I’m back with my friend, my partner, hip hop artist, actor, producer, tip TI Harris. Yeah. Yeah. He’s helping me fulfill one of my birthday wishes and this year I told the producers I wanted, I wanted to do something for other people. And so far, like, you know, y’all going to Las Vegas and stuff and you know, look, the Kirk Franklin, the music.
And so we just keep on, I I I love this part of, I wanted to do something for everybody. So, so far, so good. Joining us now is a single mother of four and just like everyone in the audience, she also has a January birthday. Please welcome Natasha. Natasha. I was told that last year was pretty tough for your family.
What happened? – Well, I’m a single mother of four ages. 10, 12, 13 and 14. And last year I hit it pretty hard when I lost my job. I have a son who has chronic asthma and one morning I walked in on him, he was covered in – Blood due to him being sick. I missed a lot of days at work and they told me I had one more time and that morning, what was that time and like ever since then, it’s been rough and I ended up losing my car, gas, electricity, all my utilities got cut off and, and I was forced to lose my home.
And when I lost my home I had to make a decision as a mother to separate my children and that was like the hardest thing for me and I had to let ’em go. – Where did your children end? – When my family is like a abuse support. My oldest was, he’s in Atlanta with my sister. He’s smart, talented, and he’s a basketball player and he’s going to Northcross High School.
Okay. My daughter, she’s 13, she’s gifted honor student. She wants to be a doctor and my two middle children are in Augusta with my mom and my youngest son who’s sick. He’s in Savannah with me. Since I’ve been in Savannah, I got a job. It takes me approximately two hours to get to work. I go by bus and recently I was attacked my man, father me home and attack me.
He beat me and he probably was gonna rape me but you know, I fought him off. But you know, that ain’t stop me. Where I live at is bad. The, the crime, the area is bad, but I can’t give up ’cause I have four people that depend on me. So I keep going. – We take these things for granted. You know those that get to see your kids and those that get to go to bed in your house, you just take it for granted.
Like you supposed to stay here. It don’t work that way for everybody. So I heard about your story and we all did and we kinda, we wanted to come up with a plan. We thought the most important thing would be to be reunited with your family. So please welcome Latasha’s children. No, no. – What’s up man? How you doing? What’s up bro? What’s up? Man’s going on you.
Hey y’all look so good. Thank you. You treat me. It’s okay. Thank you so much. Thank you. God. This one right here, she told me today, mama, I told you your storm was going to just go through your storm. You got brighter days coming ahead. This one keep me focused ahead. This one right here, if I’m down, all I gotta do is talk to her and she said, mom, it’s gonna be okay.
