KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Dogstar, an alternative rock band from Southern California consisting of Keanu Reeves (bass guitar), Bret Domrose (guitar, vocals) and Robert Mailhouse (drums) will perform at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City, Mo. on August 28 as part of their Summer Vacation Tour.

The alternative rock band’s international tour follows the 2023 release of the band’s third studio album, “Somewhere Between the Palm Trees and Power Lines” from Dillon Street Records.

“Somewhere Between the Palm Trees and Power Lines” is the first record from Dogstar since 2000’s “Happy Ending”. Although it was speculated that the band was done recording, releasing music and touring, Dogstar is embarking across Europe and the U.S. during the 2024 summer.

“Bret (Domrose, guitar, vocals) and I went to a rehearsal space and tried to bang out some ideas,” bass player Keanu Reeves said in an interview with Variety.

“But I would say it didn’t formalize really until probably 2021 when we got together and decided to get together and try and play and see how we felt, and that turned into committing to trying to write some songs with the vision of making a record, which we did.”
