Ferran – 2, Gundogan – 5: Rating 4 Barca players in Spain v Germany

Spain have beaten Germany 2-1 after extra time to progress to the semi-final of Euro 2024. There were four Barca players on parade during the game.

Here’s how the Barca players fared.

Lamine Yamal — 8.5

What a game Lamine Yamal had today. The teenager started out roughly after being tackled brutally by the German defence but he settled quickly and began mesmerizing his way in the final third.

Lamine bagged an assist in the second half. Besides that, he had two shots, one of which was bang on target. The 16-year-old was also doing his defensive duties making 2 interceptions and 3 tackles.

Ferran Torres — 2

Perhaps Spain manager Luis De La Fuente made a big mistake subbing off Lamine Yamal for Ferran Torres after 63 minutes. Ferran received a yellow card less than 5 minutes after coming on and barely threatened as Germany seized the initiative. What’s more, he missed a one-on-one chance late on to seal the game for Spain.

Meanwhile, before being taken off Lamine was bossing the game and pinning the German defence back.

Ilkay Gundogan — 5

This wasn’t the best game for Gundogan as Spain dominated the midfield in the early exchanges. After 57 minutes Nagelsmann decided to sub him off for a striker in Fullkrug.

Gundogan touched the ball 33 times during the game and lost possession 6 times. Gundo suffered three fouls, made 3 tackles and had an 83% pass accuracy.

Pedri — NR

We cannot give Pedri a rating as he left the pitch after just six minutes due to an injury. Pedri was just getting grips on the game before being injured by Toni Kroos.

Fermin Lopez and Ter Stegen did not come off the bench during the game. Ter Stegen continues his unfortunate record of never playing an international tournament for Germany, that’s World Cup or Euros.
