Longtime ESPN Anchor Has Some Simple Advice For Jason Kelce

Jason Kelce is retired, but he's got his old man shoes game down.

Jason Kelce is transitioning from his customary role as All-Pro center for the Philadelphia Eagles to NFL analyst at ESPN.

This week, longtime ESPN anchor and diehard Philadelphia sports fan Kevin Negandhi shared some advice for Kelce as he continues to prepare for his new life behind the mic.

In a new interview with the 06010 ESPN Communications podcast, Negandhi implored Kelce to be true to who he is.

“Just be yourself. Because that’s the reason why the city fell in love with Jason,” Neghandi said, via Awful Announcing. “He understands people, he makes that immediate connection to people. He’s organically himself in every way. Whether it’s his podcast, whether it’s while he’s mic’d up playing, when he was on the set doing interviews after a game, I think he’s going to just be an absolute superstar.”

Kelce is slated to be part of ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” coverage and will also contribute to the halftime show with Ryan Clark and Scott Van Pelt.

Additionally, the future Hall of Famer will take part in the network’s coverage of the postseason and Super Bowl LIX.

“My simple advice is continue to do what you’re doing, be yourself, and the entire country will fall in love with you as Philadelphia has,” Neghandi said.

Kelce retired from the NFL after 13 seasons, during which time he made seven Pro Bowls and earned six first-team All-Pro selections.

He currently co-hosts the popular “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
