Actor Willem Dafoe gets emotional at finally being recognized for his acting – ‘I can’t stop smiling’
Willem Dafoe has been mesmerizing audiences with his incredible acting talent for decades now. The actor, however, is often looked over and not given the appreciation he deserves.
But it seems this latest honor has him beaming from ear to ear! Keep reading to know more!
Willem Dafoe had the honor of being the first person to have their star unveiled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for 2024. “I can’t stop smiling! This is wonderful,” the actor beamed.
He could not hold in his joy as he took in the sight of his star after it was unveiled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, this Monday.
Dafoe’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star has been a long time coming. The actor has had an impressive career with over 150 films under his belt and is respected the world over for his acting skills. He has also received four Oscar nominations for his work!
His friends and fellow actors, Pedro Pascal and Patricia Arquette were also present at the ceremony to support him. Mark Ruffalo, his current co-star for ‘Poor Things’ was also there!
“It’s wonderful to be part of this community of artists and entertainers,” Dafoe said at the occasion. “People that by sharing their experience can imagine others’ perspectives, telling stories on what is, was, or most importantly could be. They make us feel closer together and connect us,” the actor shared.
“You cannot compare his career to anyone’s,” Pascal said about his friend. “So it is our fortune to have him, and I am personally grateful. Thank you, Willem.”
