Are Barcelona eyeing free transfers after Nike deal finalized? Answered

Barcelona had a relatively quiet 2024 summer transfer window in which they were only able to make one signing in Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig.

The Blaugrana found many difficulties to register the Spanish forward into the first-team squad because of their salary limitations.

But there have been some mutterings that Barca might look to sign a few free agents once they’re able to announce the new deal with Nike.

Teams can buy free agents even after the summer transfer window is done. They can be registered into their squads later into the campaign.

But Fabrizio Romano has dismissed these claims and states that there isn’t any indication coming from Barca on wanting to sign free agents.

Romano told CaughtOffside: “Finally, it’s been reported that Barcelona are waiting on their deal with Nike to be signed and are then looking at some free transfer signings outside of the window.

“However, I’m not aware of talks with any free agents in this moment. I don’t know where these reports have come from but it’s completely quiet at Barca at the moment. I can guarantee that no negotiations are taking place now.”
