Argentine government ask Leo Messi to apologise for something he wasn't even involved in

The Argentine government have asked Lionel Messi and the Argentine FA president, Claudio Tapia, to apologise for the racist chant sang by some Argentina players after their Copa America win, according to TN.

Argentina’s National Undersecretary of Sports, Julio Garro, has stated that the incident ‘leaves the country in a bad light’.

Interestingly, Messi wasn’t even involved in the issue as he was not in the team bus when it all took place. If he’s convinced to apologise, he will do it primarily as the team captain.

In the chant, Argentina players mocked France internationals for representing the European national team despite having African roots. They also trolled Kylian Mbappe who reportedly had a relationship with a transgender person.

Enzo Fernandez, who was the one streaming it on Instagram, has already apologised for the excessive celebrations.
