Colin Kaepernick is one of the prime examples of athletes who may have overplayed their hand by not knowing when to take a knee in terms of compromising upon their demands. Pun intended. The former NFL quarterback who played for the San Francisco 49ers is no longer in the league and looking at the way things are, his time as a professional NFL QB might be over. While Kaepernick was supported by his peers, some of them appear to be frustrated with him.
Terence Garvin, the former linebacker who played in the NFL for 6-years appeared on ‘The Arthur Moats Experience with Deke Podcast‘ wherein he spoke about Colin Kaepernick and how the QB posted a video of him working out at Nike’s HQ with Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris and Dallas Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb. Terence could not hold his laughter back as he began to tear into Kaepernick by dropping some truth bombs upon him.
Garvin came out swinging, “The senior prom was like six years ago…It’s over…It’s over. You feel me? You still trying to be the prom queen! IT’S A WRAP!” The linebacker believes Colin is still attempting to think he is relevant and is using the attention and support he got from taking a knee during the national anthem to date.

Garvin goes on to add, “He pops up this time of the year every year, like, we know you can throw the ball…” He is of the firm belief that Colin Kaepernick is way past his professional days as an NFL quarterback and in all fairness that appears to be the truth. Everyone respects him for taking a knee all those years ago. However, since then he has expected the league to bend down to him.

Colin was given an opportunity to workout in front of league scouts from all 32 teams a while ago, he blew this by announcing that he had changed the venue at the last moment, and what this did was send a message indirectly to the league that he is the one who calls the shots. Speaking on the topic of Nike’s latest video, Terence Garvin believes that was just a PR move by the brand, “Them dudes was mandated by Nike to be out there.”
The common contention between the host and Garvin regarding Colin’s future in the NFL was that he is done. “It passes you by. The game is young, every year there is fresh talent. How do I take a dude that hasn’t been out here playing in-game when I can go get a USFL or an XFL guy? I can get a dude who’s ballin in Canada. At least they have been using live bullets.”
Colin did have a chance to comeback and continue his NFL career, but he decided to not take it. At this point, the NFL has moved on from him and teams will always look at him to be more of a liability rather than an asset. It is unfortunate to see how things played out with him.
