Great news for fans of the “Law & Order” franchise! Citytv has just announced the upcoming series “Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent.” The show, set to premiere in Spring 2024, will be a Canadian adaptation of the popular crime drama.
The Toronto iteration of the series is a collaboration between Lark Productions, based in Vancouver, and Cameron Pictures Inc. The first season will consist of ten hour-long episodes, all of which will feature original Canadian stories written and produced by Canadians. Although casting details have not yet been announced, fans can expect a talented ensemble of Canadian actors to bring these captivating stories to life.
Similar to its predecessor, “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” the Toronto version will follow an elite squad of detectives as they tackle high-profile crime and corruption in the city. With its unique Canadian twist, the show promises to captivate audiences with its engaging narratives and thrilling investigations.
The “Law & Order” franchise, created by Dick Wolf, has a long-standing history of success. It has spawned various international adaptations, including the French series “Paris enquêtes criminelles” and Russian versions of both “Law & Order: SVU” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” Even the United Kingdom had its own adaptation with “Law & Order: UK.”
