Keanu Reeves’ band, Dogstar, to perform at Indiana State Fair

Keanu Reeves' Dogstar to play Indiana State Fair free stage Aug. 8

INDIANAPOLIS — Dogstar, a rock band with Keanu Reeves as the bassist, will be performing on August 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the 2024 Indiana State Fair.

The band features guitarist and vocalist Bret Domrose, drummer Rob Mailhouse and the actor Keanu Reeves as the bassist. They will take the spotlight at the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage during the State Fair. Tickets are free with paid fair admission, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

This tour stop is part of Dogstar’s “Summer Vacation” Tour, which is set to promote their most recent album, Somewhere Between The Power Lines And Palm Trees. It is their first album in over two decades.

Dogstar was formed in 1991—a mere two years after Reeves’s comedy breakthrough in Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure—as just a small group of friends making music in a Southern California garage. They released an EP and two albums between 1996 and 2000.

Flash forward a couple decades, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The rock trio decided to reignite their musical spark and create an album that was reflective of their growth. They returned to the live music scene in May 2023, where they debuted the lead single “Everything Turns Around” at the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival. A couple of months later, on Oct. 6, 2023, they released Somewhere Between The Power Lines And Palm Trees. For more information on Dogstar, click here.

This year’s Indiana State Fair takes place from Aug. 2 to Aug. 18 but is closed on Mondays. For more information on what it has to offer, as well as ticket details, click here.
