There is no denying WrestleMania XL was built on Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Roman Reigns feuding with Cody Rhodes. The build-up that started on day one of this year also recorded many twists and turns. Finally, culminating in one of the biggest Manias the WWE has ever seen, fans were on the edge of their seats. However, with Mania now in the rearview window, The Rock took to social media to announce who he felt was the MVP of the show. Unfortunately, it was not his cousin, Reigns.
The Brahma Bull has taken a temporary respite from the promotion to complete his Hollywood projects. However, before leaving, he did lay down the groundwork for his feud when he returned.
Dwayne Johnson calls Seth Rollins the MVP of WrestleMania, not Roman Reigns
Taking to social media as usual, The Rock talked about WrestleMania. However, this was not the Final Boss talking despite wearing the merchandise. In a much more light-hearted sense, he wanted to thank everyone involved in the weekend extravaganza. He had nothing but kind words and a smile, a change from the heated promos he’d uploaded during the build-up. He said, “Also congratulations to who I feel is the real MVP of the entire WrestleMania weekend, Seth Rollins.”
Despite feeling out of place, since Johnson has called Rollins many other things and never the MVP, fans loved it. He continued, “What an honor it was to share the ring with you three. What an honor it was for us to break records.” The three he mentions are Cody Rhodes and Reigns. He praised both of them before touching upon Rollins. Unlike the former AEW star, Johnson, or Reigns, Rollins engaged in three matches at Mania. Despite his nice demeanor and words, the Hollywood star also laid down the path he wanted to walk upon his return to WWE in the future
The Final Boss hints at what is to come after his return to the WWE
After praising all three men, he said, “And now my sights are set on the next WrestleMania.” This confirms that The Rock will be involved in Mania XLI. Fans have speculated that Dwayne Johnson might return at SummerSlam to kick off his feud with Rhodes. Before leaving, he made it clear that his eyes were on the title.
However, with the recent development in The Bloodline, fans also expect him to take center stage in that story. With Reigns taking time off, Solo Sikoa taking over, and booting Jimmy Uso, things have changed inside The Bloodline. Jimmy Uso found himself being replaced by Tama Tonga. Interestingly, the wrestling promotion made sure to convey the fact that Paul Heyman was unaware of this. Fans have been speculating that this could be the lead-up to Reigns vs The Rock. Only time will tell what will happen down the line. What did you think of Johnson praising Rollins rather than Reigns? Tell us in the comments.
