Keefe D Worked With Police In Attempt To Connect Diddy To 2Pac’s Murder
Keefe D is prepared to come clean about his attempt to implicate Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2Pac’s murder ahead of his trial.
According to a report The Sun published on Tuesday night, July 23, prosecutors in Las Vegas filed a 179-page document that claims the defendant Duane “Keefe D” Davis worked as a “confidential informant” for detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department. The detectives locked Davis in as an informant after a task force, which was created to investigate the murder of The Notorious B.I.G., busted him for “trafficking a large amount of drugs.”
Davis denied any involvement with Biggie’s murder, however, he did admit to executing the drive-by shooting that injured Suge Knight and fatally wounded Tupac Shakur. He believed he was immune from prosecution when he told detectives about what happened on the night of September 7, 1996. He also alleged that Diddy offered $1 million to him and a fellow gang member Eric “Zip” Martin to kill both Shakur and Knight. Three months after he confessed, Davis was recruited by the task force in March 2009 as an official informant.
Diddy’s name appears 77 times throughout the court documents. Prosecutors describe an instance in June 2009 where Davis and officers from the task force traveled to New York City to secure corroborating evidence of Diddy’s alleged involvement in the shooting. He was undercover when he met with his alleged co-conspirator Martin and spoke about trafficking narcotics. The documents also cite a summary from a past interview Davis did in which he detailed a conversation Davis with Combs shortly after Shakur was killed. The Bad Boy founder reportedly asked if the South Side Crips were responsible for the murder.
“Is that us?” Diddy asked Davis, to which he proudly replied, “Yes.”
The allegations against Diddy were included in the prosecution’s latest filing that opposed bail for Davis ahead of his trial in November. A judge denied his previous attempt last month amid questions over the intentions of Cash “Wack 100” Jones, who put up the remaining $112,500 to fulfill Davis’ bail. Davis previously pleaded not guilty. His attorney argued that his client’s wasn’t even in Las Vegas on the night of the murder.
