Kounde named Man of the Match, powers France into Euros quarter-final

 

Jules Kounde has just dropped a Man of the Match performance to fire France into the Euro 2024 quarter-final at the expense of Belgium.

Kounde was playing at right-back but he created the most chances in the game (5). One of those chances was a big chance that was spurned by Marcus Thuram.

Kounde was not dispossessed and had Man City winger Jeremy Doku in his pocket through the entire match. Kounde won three of his four attempted tackles and five of his eight duels.

France have someone like Kounde to thank for keeping a clean sheet and going through with a 1-0 win.
