According to UEFA, Yamal has the opportunity to make history if the Spanish head coach lets him play in the match in the early morning of July 15 (Hanoi time).

The Barca youngster could become the youngest player ever to play in a EURO final, beating Renato Sanches. The Portuguese midfielder holds the record after playing in the 1-0 win over France in the 2016 final, aged 18 years and 328 days.

Yamal could also become the youngest player to score in a EURO final. This record is currently held by Pietro Anastasi (Italy), who scored in the 1968 final at the age of 20 years and 64 days.

Interestingly, Yamal turned 17 just before playing in the EURO 2024 final for Spain against England.

In addition, Yamal can also break another important world football record, which is being the youngest player to ever play in a major national tournament final (EURO/World Cup).

Brazil’s Pele holds the record, having played in a 5-2 win over Sweden in the 1958 World Cup final at the age of 17 years and 249 days.
