Mamadou Fall bids an emotional farewell to Barcelona with a heartfelt message of gratitude and reminiscence.

FC Barcelona Atletic v CD Arenteiro - Primera RFEF

Barcelona Atletic defender Mamadou Fall appears to have said goodbye to the club after the team’s defeat in the promotion play-off final.

There has been talk of Barcelona being in talks to sign Fall permanently from LAFC, but he’s posted a message on social media that suggests he’s heading away from the club.

“Hi Culers, it’s been nothing but a nice journey sharing experience as a teammate and as a fan,” he wrote on Instagram.

“My aim coming here was to take Barça to where it belongs and to be, but that was not the decision of the almighty God. I’m happy and very happy to be part of you, I love every step of it. I just want to thank you all, it was just a short trip.”

Barcelona were reported to have an option to sign Fall for around $4 million, but it looks now like that is not going to happen.

The defender played regularly for Rafa Marquez’s side, alongside Mikayil Faye in the heart of the backline, but saw his campaign ended prematurely by injury.
