Messi and other former Barcelona players snatch a draw for Inter Miami

Tonight, in the MLS regular season, Inter Miami CF hosted St. Louis City.

All four former Barcelona players, namely Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Luis Suárez, and Lionel Messi, started the match and played the full 90 minutes.

The visitors quickly took the lead in the fifteenth minute, but ten minutes later, Messi combined brilliantly with Alba outside the opponent’s penalty area to equalize.

Towards the end of the first half, an error on Inter Miami’s side led to another conceded goal, but they swiftly responded again. In the second minute of added time, the trio of Messi, Alba, and Suárez set up a goal for the Uruguayan.

In the 68th minute, Suárez inadvertently scored an own goal. Following a corner kick, he headed the ball into his own net. Inter Miami had to come from behind once more, and they succeeded. In the 85th minute, Jordi Alba made a run behind the defenders and calmly finished past the goalkeeper. St. Louis City players appealed for offside, but VAR confirmed the goal’s legitimacy.

The match ended in a thrilling draw.
