Messi is angry with strange rules in MLS

Messi was not happy having to wait outside the field during Inter Miami’s 3-2 win over Montreal in round 13 of MLS, on the morning of May

At the end of the first half of the match against Montreal, Lionel Messi was in pain and had to leave the field for medical attention. When informed that there was no serious problem, Messi wanted to immediately return to the field when the ball died.

However, the Argentine superstar was stopped by the referee. In MLS, players who are injured and have to rely on the medical team will have to wait at least 2 minutes before returning to the field of play.

Messi clearly expressed his dissatisfaction because Inter Miami desperately needed a goal because they were leading 2-0.

After Messi returned, Inter Miami had enough players and equalized 2-2 just before the first half ended. Matias Rojas scored a superb goal to shorten the score, before Luis Suarez scored a goal, bringing the match back to the starting line.

At the beginning of the second half, Inter Miami took a 3-2 lead thanks to Cremaschi’s breakthrough effort. This is also the situation that determined Inter Miami’s comeback at Saputo Stadium.

Even though they won 3 points, Inter Miami still left worries behind, having conceded goals in 7 consecutive matches. Messi and his teammates continue to lead the American Professional League with 27 points, 3 points more than the second-place team, Cincinnati, but have played one more match.

With current form, Inter Miami can completely achieve the goal set by Messi at the end of last season, which is to win tickets to the top 7 teams participating in the play-off round to compete for the MLS championship.
