Real Madrid competes with PSG to buy key Arsenal player
According to CaughtOffside, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are both interested in Arsenal defender William Saliba during this summer’s transfer window.
Saliba along with Lille prodigy Leny Yoro are Real Madrid’s top targets at centre-back , while PSG may be willing to sell Milan Skriniar to make room for the Arsenal main man.
After some world-class performances for Arsenal over the past few years, it is understandable that Saliba is wanted, despite the Gunners’ reluctance to sell the French star.
Arsenal did a great job of ‘tying down’ key players like Saliba when they needed him, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka or Ben White to continue competing for the Premier League title with Man City. Mikel Arteta’s team came very close to winning the title last season and need a good transfer window in the summer to achieve success.
However, Real Madrid’s offer is hard to turn down. It will be interesting to see whether Saliba is determined to stay at the Emirates or whether he will choose to return home to PSG – a rich and ambitious team.
