In the past decade, from the 2013/14 season to the present, Real Madrid has been the most successful club in Europe. The Bernabeu team’s trophy room has added 6 Champions League titles, 4 La Liga titles and dozens of other major and minor titles. Thanks to that, Real Madrid has had an incredible financial breakthrough in the 2023/24 season. According to the financial report published by Real’s homepage, last season the Spanish Royal team achieved a revenue of 1.073 billion euros (excluding player transfers).

Thanks to that, Real Madrid became the first football team in history to reach and exceed the 1 billion euro revenue mark in a season. The problem is that the team’s operating system also consumes a lot of money. Therefore, although the revenue exceeded the 1 billion euro mark, the team’s profit was only 16 million euros, not much higher than previous seasons. The salary fund for players and staff is a difficult problem that President Florentino Perez has not yet found a way to reduce.

In terms of commerce, in the 2023/24 financial year, Real Madrid has significantly boosted its business and sponsorship activities. Coach Carlo Ancelotti and his team won two major tournaments, which also brought in a significant bonus for the club. Sponsorship and ticket sales have therefore also increased significantly compared to the previous season.

Compared to Real themselves, the La Liga and Champions League double helped them increase their revenue by up to 27% compared to the previous season. Remember that in the 2022/23 season, “Los Blancos” reached the 843 million euro mark.

Man City is next with a revenue of 826 million euros while PSG is third with 803 million euros, according to Deloitte. Barcelona is fourth with a revenue of 800 million euros in the 2022/23 season. MU, despite great efforts, only reached the revenue mark of 755 million euros.
