Regulations could cause Spain to be fined for using prodigy Yamal
Spain could be fined $32,000 if 16-year-old Lamine Yamal plays the entire match against Albania at Euro 2024, due to violating labor laws in host country Germany.
Spain is highly appreciated in Euro 2024, partly due to the possession of wing prodigy Lamine Yamal, a player who is only 16 years and 347 days old.
But the Spanish Football Federation (La Roja) may violate child protection laws in Germany, if they let this player play the full 90 minutes in the match against Albania at 2:00 a.m. on June 25 (9:00 p.m. on June 24). Berlin).
According to German law, the host country of Euro 2024, people under 18 years old in this country, regardless of whether they are German citizens or people of other nationalities, are not allowed to work more than 8 p.m., to prevent labor exploitation, ensure the safety and welfare of teenagers.

This law makes an exception until 11pm for young athletes. But this exception includes time to shower and answer the media, making it likely that Yamal will break the rules if he plays the entire match against Albania.
Spain won tickets to the 1/8 round. If Yamal is used during extra time in the knockout rounds starting at 9:00 p.m., La Roja will also be fined.
German officials have notified La Roja of a $32,000 fine if they break the law, but it is unclear whether they will implement it or not.
Yamal’s influence on the Spanish team.
Lamine Yamal, the youngest player in Euro, is considered the future of Spanish football. The 16-year-old player impressed many fans with his speed, agility and maturity. Yamal is currently Barcelona’s key player.
In both wins against Croatia and Italy, Yamal played an important role. Due to his young age, this player still had to bring homework to Germany to compete in the Euro, for fear of being scolded by the teacher.
