The latest on Arsenal and Sesko
Arsenal have been strongly linked to Benjamin Sesko as they look to improve their striker option, and our James McNicholas has the latest in our Arsenal-focussed Transfer DealSheet:
“The current focus in the forward line is RB Leipzig’s 21-year-old Benjamin Sesko. The Slovenia international has a release clause in his contract, believed to be for a fee in the region of €65m (£55.3m, $70.4m). Sesko has attracted significant interest from elsewhere in the Premier League and Europe, but the feeling among other clubs is that if Sesko is to move then Arsenal are in pole position.”

A move to come for Chucky Lozano

Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano is a name that will be familiar to European and North American football fans alike — and the Mexico international is set for a move to MLS.
Lozano, 28, registered six goals and three assists for PSV Eindhoven this season but is set to leave the Dutch champions for MLS expansion side San Diego FC.
San Diego won’t take part in MLS until the 2025 campaign, so — as our MLS correspondent Tom Bogert reports — Lozano will remain at PSV for the first part of the 2024-25 European season.

A slightly less high-profile Real Madrid transfer

Joining Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid next season will be 34-year-old Joselu.
Madrid are to exercise their purchase option for the striker, which was part of their original loan agreement with Espanyol.
Joselu will cost the Champions League winners around €1.5million, a bargain, really, when you consider his tally of 17 goals last season in approximately 2,100 minutes (just over 23 full games) of action.

David Ornstein’s One to Watch
Now that the 2023-24 club season is officially over, one of the players we need to keep an eye on is Michael Olise. There is a release clause in his Crystal Palace contract which provides an element of clarity that does not exist with many other leading players.
That’s an excerpt on Crystal Palace star Olise from David Ornstein in today’s Transfer DealSheet. The Frenchman ended the season in stunning form, registering four goals and three assists in his final six games.

Chelsea’s wheeling and dealing
Chelsea will earn between £11-14million from clauses in transfer and loan deals.
The Champions League final was a particularly lucrative one for the west London club. Real Madrid reaching it meant Chelsea gained from Kepa Arrizabalag’s loan deal and the sale of Eden Hazard, even though the latter was five years ago!
Borussia Dortmund reaching the final also saw Chelsea benefit due to a clause in Ian Maatsen’s loan deal.

The senior pair depart upon the expiration of their contracts having played only bit-part roles at the club in the last two seasons.
Elneny joined in 2016 and made 161 appearances, while Cedric featured 64 times after signing in 2020.
