However, in Season 17, Tucker and Benson began a romantic relationship. They later parted ways but reunited in Season 21, where Tucker revealed he was dying of cancer. In the episode, Tucker admits to mishandling a rape accusation, leading to the victim’s suicide. Ultimately, Tucker takes his own life, leaving a letter for his wife stating he didn’t want her to care for him as he died.
