Van Gaal affirmed that Messi and Argentina were arranged to win the World Cup
Coach Louis van Gaal believes that there has been an arrangement for Lionel Messi and Argentina to win the 2022 World Cup.
Nearly a year has passed since the 2022 World Cup finals ended, coach Louis van Gaal has his thoughts on this event. He affirmed that there was an arrangement for Lionel Messi ‘s Argentina team to win the championship.
The 72-year-old coach participated in the Dutch football gala held on September 4. There, in response to a question about the championship of the representative from South America, the former Dutch team coach said: “I don’t want to talk much about the 2022 World Cup, but look at the way Argentina scored, the way they scored. I scored, and the way the Argentinian players crossed the line without being penalized, I could tell the tournament was pre-arranged.”
“There was a pre-calculated intention to make Lionel Messi world champion,” the former Man United coach added.
The two teams drew 2-2 after 120 minutes, before Argentina won 4-3 on penalties. Tension appeared before the match, with statements made at the press conference.
Then the hostile atmosphere increased after each collision and each goal. And it ended with the Argentinian players celebrating in a provocative way, leading to collisions and scuffles.
However, in an interview not long after, Messi said that he did not like the actions aimed at coach Van Gaal, as well as his statement after that match.
Messi has now joined Inter Miami in the US after leaving Paris St Germain. The Argentine superstar’s life in the land of the stars and stripes is going very well, as he is in great form, scoring 11 goals , 5 assists in 11 matches and soon winning his first title with his new team (Leagues Cup 2023).
