Conor Gallagher talks

Chelsea ace Conor Gallagher has moved one step closer to the exit door after the club held preliminary transfer talks with Aston Villa.

Tottenham had previously been linked with a transfer for Gallagher but The Athletic have now reported that it is Aston Villa who have entered talks over a deal.

With the midfielder entering the final 12 months of his contract, he is said to have emerged as a top target for Villa boss Unai Emery as he looks to bolster his midfield options.

This has seen the Villans contact both the Blues and the England international’s camp over a potential move.

According to transfer insider Ben Jacobs, a fee of around £50million has been set by club bosses to sanction the sale of the 24-year-old.

Mbappe on Real move

Kylian Mbappe has admitted that his move to Real Madrid has “overshadowed” France’s preparations for Euro 2024.

It’s a great day for me but I have responsibilities as captain of France and this situation has overshadowed the national team.

I want to protect my team, it’s been a long time since we won the European Championship, 24 years is too long.

I took a slap in the face at the Euros with a failed competition. It’s the big black spot on my CV with the national team.
