Child prodigy Lamine Yamal posted a photo of himself being held by Messi, with a hidden meaning

After shining against France, 16-year-old prodigy Lamine Yamal posted a photo of himself being held by Messi when he was a few months old. Along with that, the star wrote a meaningful caption.

Lamine Yamal was the player mentioned a lot after the match between Spain and France in the Euro 2024 semi-finals last night. The 16-year-old prodigy scored a beautiful goal past goalkeeper Mike Maignan, opening the way for Spain’s comeback.

The goal not only helped Spain reach the final of Euro 2024 but also helped Lamine Yamal make history. Accordingly, he became the youngest player to score in the history of Euro and at the same time the youngest player to play and score in both Euro and World Cup. This record was previously held by the King of Football Pele.

After the match, Lamine Yamal posted a picture of Lionel Messi holding him when he was a few months old on Twitter. Along with it, the 16-year-old star wrote the caption: “Reborn”, along with a goat symbol (referring to GOAT, the best player of all time) and a star. That shows that Lamine Yamal wants to follow Messi’s great path.

Right before the match, on his Facebook page, the Spanish football prodigy also posted a picture of Messi bathing as a child. In contrast to this picture is the scene of Mbappe with C. Ronaldo’s arm around his shoulder. This is considered a “declaration of war” with Mbappe. Lamine Yamal considers himself Messi’s successor, while Mbappe is C. Ronaldo’s successor.

The photos of Lamine Yamal being bathed by Messi are part of a charity calendar taken in 2007 with the participation of Diario Sport, Barcelona’s charity foundation and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

UNICEF recently sent this precious photo to the families of the participants (including Lamine Yamal’s family). The 16-year-old player’s father posted the photo on social media, along with the caption: “The beginning of two legends”.

According to Diario Sport, UNICEF held a selection for several months to choose the children to appear in this calendar. The children were mainly from the Rocafonda neighborhood, Catalonia. Finally, they drew lots to find the luckiest child to be photographed with Lionel Messi. The Lamine Yamal family was chosen.

At that time, Barcelona’s media department also decided to choose young player Lionel Messi, instead of famous seniors like Ronaldinho, Deco or Samuel Eto’o.

This precious photo could have been forgotten if “baby” Lamine Yamal had not risen to shine at Euro 2024. At the age of 16, this prodigy has become a mainstay of FC Barcelona and Spain. Lamine Yamal is facing the opportunity to help the Bulls win the Euro for the first time since 2012. If he does this, he will become the youngest player in history to win this tournament.
