Dani Olmo: 'Spain's win is for Pedri'

When Pedri picked up an injury just six minutes into Spain’s quarter-final against Germany, the man called up to replace him was Dani Olmo.

Olmo went on to drag Spain to victory scoring Spain’s first goal and setting up the second in extra-time.

“Now let’s hope that Pedri’s injury is not serious, that it is just a blow because he is a very important player for us,” Olmo said.

“This victory goes for Pedri and now, let’s go for the semis,” the midfielder added.

Olmo probably didn’t get the memo — earlier on, the Spanish Football Federation confirmed that Pedri’s tournament was over due to the knee injury he picked up during the game.
