‘Avengers’ Rumor Teases Scarlett Johansson’s Return To The MCU
Is Scarlett Johansson coming back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? A new rumor teases Black Widow’s return in an upcoming Avengers film!
Black Widow’s death in the MCU has never sat right with some people, especially given her solo film didn’t even come out until after Avengers: Endgame. However, it seems Scarlett Johansson will have one final bow as the heroine. According to scooper MyTimeToShineHello, the spy will return for one final time in Avengers: Secret Wars.
The scooper confirmed that Scarlett Johansson would only return for the final Avengers movie of the Multiverse saga, and not before then as some have speculated. While it’s a shame she won’t have many more interactions in the MCU, especially given Yelena Belova’s growing prominence following Black Widow, it’s a relief that fans will get to say goodbye to Marvel’s greatest spy one final time.
Scarlett Johansson’s Secret MCU Project
While Black Widow will be making her return in Avengers: Secret Wars, that doesn’t mean Scarlett Johansson is completely out of the MCU. It’s been known for a while that she’s been working on producing a project for Marvel Studios, though for the longest time, it wasn’t clear what that project would end up being.
Recent months have shed some light on this mystery project. It seems Scarlett Johansson won’t be working on anything related to Black Widow for the MCU. Instead, she’ll be adapting one of Marvel’s earliest female heroes in The Blonde Phantom, with a rumor stating the project will be produced by Johansson for Disney Plus.
