Scarlett Johansson reveals sad reason daughter, 9, refuses to watch an Avengers movie
Scarlett Johansson’s nine-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy refuses to watch her mom in action on the big screen as the Black Widow in the Avengers movies and the actress has explained why
Scarlett Johansson’s daughter Rose Dorothy might need some convincing before she commits to watching her mother star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.
The Black Widow star revealed to People that Rose is “too scared” to watch her in the superhero films. The nine-year-old, who she shares with her ex-husband, French journalist Romain Dauriac, is not a serious filmmaker who looks down on those kinds of movies, instead, she thinks they might be too intense for her to enjoy.
“She likes that I play Black Widow, but she’s too scared to watch an Avengers movie,” Scarlett told the magazine. “She’s just like, ‘It’s violent.’ I’m like, ‘Oh God’.”
Scarlett is starring alongside Channing Tatum in Fly Me To The Moon, in theaters now, and Rose has agreed to watch that one. “I think she’s excited about the hair and makeup mostly,” the actress says. “It’s just so fun… She’s girly.”

The new film will be a family affair. The actress’s husband Colin Jost, who she shares a two-year-old son Cosmo with, is making a brief cameo in Fly Me To The Moon. The actress shared that director Greg Berlanti requested that the Saturday Night Live star appear in the movie.
“[He] was like, ‘Do you think Colin would want to do…?’ Greg and Colin, they have a great rapport and they’re both comedy writers and, I think, they have a little bit of a similar personality in some ways. And so I think he just really was excited to have Colin come and do a cameo. I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m sure if you ask him, I’m not going to ask him,’ ” she said.
It was also a win for them who don’t get to be on the same projects often, unlike other celebrity couples. “We don’t get to work together really ever because… I mean, we’ve worked together as he’s written stuff for me for SNL, but we never get to perform together,” she said.
