One thing Ter Stegen has NEVER done in his career – Victor Valdes can relate

Marc-Andre ter Stegen has yet to play a single minute at either the Euros or the World Cup in over 12 years since his debut for Germany.

Despite being a no,1 at Barcelona, the enduring dominance of Manuel Neuer has kept him on the sidelines at Bundesteam so far.

Interestingly, another Barca keeper had experienced this before – Victor Valdes had zero minutes at either tournament for Spain, with Iker Casillas being an undisputed starter under Vicente del Bosque.

The bright side for Ter Stegen is that the Bayern Munich veteran has recently announced his retirement from international football.

Now, MATS has the chance to finally represent his country at major tournaments, and, being just 32, he has plenty of those ahead of him.
