BET Awards Got Blasted For Their Shocking OJ Simpson Decision
When millions tuned into the BET Awards, nobody thought they would be seeing OJ Simpson on the show.
OJ Simpson was among those featured in the “In Memoriam” segment at the 2024 BET Awards on Sunday, a move that came as a shock to the audience in attendance and even more to viewers watching on television.
As the video went down the list of people who had tragically passed away in the last year, the audience applauded, but when Simpson’s image came onscreen, a noticeable silence and some gasps fell over the crowd.
While many were shocked at seeing him on the screen, a few applause could be heard throughout.

The BET awards honoring OJ Simpson I can’t stand black people
Simpson’s death in April resulted in many people taking to social media to send their condolences, while others wanted to remember him for all the terrible things he did and likely got away with it.
BET remembering him is much more than what the USC Trojans and the Buffalo Bills did, which was absolutely nothing, and neither decided to mention it.
Among the many others mentioned in the “In Memoriam” segment was Night at the Museum actor Bill Cobbs, Rocky actor Carl Weathers, Major League Baseball player Willie Mays, and music executive Clarence Avant.

OJ Simpson Allegedly Once Said He Wasn’t Black
It will forever remain unclear if OJ Simpson said the words that rapper Jay-Z attributed to him in his 2017 Grammy-nominated song “The Story of O.J.“
“I’m not black, I’m O.J.,” Jay-Z stated.
As we all know, Simpson was acquitted of two counts of murder in a highly controversial trial that divided the nation along racial lines.
