Lamine Yamal plays Euro, studies online, still passes high school exam

Before playing in the round of 16 of Euro 2024, Lamine Yamal received good news when he just passed his high school exam.

According to Cadena Cope , Yamal passed the ESO exam for the 4th time this week. This is an important educational milestone in Spain equivalent to a high school diploma in the United States.

While with the Spanish team participating in Euro 2024, Lamine Yamal was noticed not only on the field but also for his studiousness.

Yamal once shared with AS : “I brought my homework to Euro 2024, because I am in the fourth year of ESO (compulsory general education). I also have online classes and I am doing quite well.”

The 16-year-old striker is considering two options, including continuing to study at Bachillerato to complete the last two years of high school. Or focus entirely on a professional soccer career.

However, according to Cadena Cope , Yamal almost certainly continued to study culture until he was 18 years old. “In La Masia, they will encourage Yamal to continue his studies until he becomes an adult,” said Cadena Cope .

After passing the exam, Yamal’s first action was to call his mother to share the good news.

Yamal can now focus fully on  Euro 2024 , where he will join Spain in facing Georgia in the round of 16 at 2am on July 1 (Vietnam time).
