Mariska Hargitay plays Olivia Benson,  the tough-as-nails special victims’ investigator on the long-running hit series, Law And Order SVU. She’s a hard-nosed member of the police force that goes through just about anything to set things straight by protecting young victims of crime while putting the bad guys in lock up, where they belong.

Given her tough, rugged presence on the show, fans were stunned to see images of their beloved star looking badly injured. When the photos of Mariska emerged, she looked to be quite seriously injured, but she quickly took to Instagram to reveal to her fans that \in spite of the severity of her injuries, no surgery is required, and she is going to recover at home.

Mariska Hargitay Gets Hurt

After a full 22 seasons on the air, playing Olivia on Law And Order SVU, fans have never seen Olivia looking so battered.

This stunned her 2.1 million followers and left them with more questions than they had answers to.

Mariska posted about her injuries on her Instagram account, immediately assuring her fans that “this did not happen at work,” but offering no explanation as to what precisely caused these clearly visible injuries to her body.

Fans are still curious as to what exactly happened to make her look this banged up and battered, and are hoping to uncover more details by remaining tuned in to her Instagram account for future updates.

Whatever it is that happened to her, it seems to be an injury that was not immediately addressed. Her caption alluded to the fact that perhaps she toughed it out a bit too long on her own before going into the hospital to be assessed. She wrote; “#ThatFeelingWhen, you go to the doctor, get an MRI and find out that you have a broken knee, a hairline fracture in your ankle, and a torn ligament. It’s always a good idea to go to the doctor. Immediately.”

Worried Fans Weigh In

Mariska included a series of hashtags revealing a few more details about her current situation, such as; “#ListenToYourBody#TrustTheExperts#StayStrong#InOtherKneeNews#BustingPerpsWithBustedKnees#BraceYourself#NotTheBeesKnees#TheQueenBeesKnees and #YouShouldSeeTheOtherGuy,” but fans remained worried for her health.

Her account was flooded with messages, inclusive of one from Demi Lovato, who wrote in to say; “”Omg!! Feel better!!”,” and her co-star Ryan Buggle wrote; “”OMG! Nooooo… Get better SO soon!”

There’s no hiding this from the studio that produces Law & Order SVU, either. Wolf Entertainment commented, “Feel better soon ❤️.”

Debra Messing Wrote; “HONEY!!!!!! Nooooooooo,” and fans wrote a flurry of messages full of love and encouragement to help her get well soon, including; “rest up, heal fast!” and “oh no, we will pray for your speedy recovery” as well as “get well soon!”

Andy Karl came in for the rescue with his message which read; “I still got my Game Ready Ice compressor machine from Groundhog Day if you need it. Perfect condition. My gift to you. Really helps. Get you back on the set in no time.”
