Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany shared joyful news on Friday that they’re expecting a third child

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes have announced they’re expecting their third child in a heartwarming video posted to social media alongside Sterling Skye, three, and son Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon Mahomes III, one.

The pair are childhood sweethearts, with Brittany being by Mahomes’ side during his stellar college football career at Texas Tech, his first-round NFL drafting to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017, and his three Super Bowl wins, as he confirmed himself as one of football’s best-ever quarterbacks.

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes officially tied the knot in March 2022, just over a year after Sterling Skye’s arrival and eight months before Patrick Mahomes III was born. “Round three, here we come,” Brittany said on Instagram.

The couple has been enjoying the football offseason off the back of Mahomes’ third Super Bowl win with the Chiefs, an overtime victory against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas in February. The couple has been seen enjoying themselves in Europe, attending Wimbledon, before joining Mahomes’ Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce for a leg of his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” in Amsterdam.

It also follows as Mahomes won the ESPYS “Best NFL Player” Award and the “Best Male Athlete” Award. His head coach, Andy Reid, accepted the honors on his quarterback’s behalf and gave a passion-fueled speech.

“I’ve been around this kid for few years now,” Reid said. “To watch him grow as a football player, as a teammate, as a leader has been phenomenal.

“But more than that, to watch him grow as a father and as a husband has probably been the best part of that. We’re very lucky to have him in Kansas City.”

The Mahomes’ will soon return to Kansas City, where Patrick and the Chiefs are gearing up with hopes of retaining the Vince Lombardi Trophy for a second season in a row. No team has ever won a three-peat of Super Bowls – not even the Bill Belichick-Tom Brady dynasty at the New England Patriots.

“It’s legendary [a three-peat] – no one has ever done it,” Mahomes said earlier this year. “Only eight teams have done it back-to-back. We felt like we had the best opportunity we’ve ever had.

“All you can do is come back next year with the best mindset and try to do it again. I know how hard these guys work. I know how hard they get after it. I know how hard these coaches work. To be able to have our stamp on NFL history is something I’ll never take for granted.”
