How much longer is Patrick Mahomes going to play in the National Football League?

If his mom’s comments are any indication, Mahomes will not be playing into his mid-40s like Tom Brady did.

Mahomes is still just 28 years old, so he’s likely got at least another decade in the league, but it doesn’t sound like he’ll be playing until he’s 45 like Brady.

The mom of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback had some telling comments in a recent interview, suggesting that her son will walk away from the game before he gets too old.

“I hear him you know, make comments like, ”If the game takes me away from my kids, I might not play as long as Tom Brady,” and I’m like, I’m so proud of him for that,” she said during an appearance on “The Mom Game Podcast.”

The Chiefs quarterback has made similar comments. He knows he probably can’t catch many of Brady’s records because of it.

“I’ve looked. If I played until Tom’s age, my daughter would be 19, 20 years old. That would mean missing plenty of youth sporting events and other commitments,” Mahomes told reporters.

“But if I feel like it’s taking away from my family time, that’s when I’ll know it’s time to go.”

It’s easier said than done, of course.
