‘If I was Eto’ozinho, I’d be more recognised’: How Eto’o took a dig at Ronaldinho after missing out on FIFA award
“If I were called Eto’ozinho, I would be a hundred times more recognised,” Samuel Eto’o told L’Equipe in 2006.
“I do not complain when they in FIFA say Samuel Eto’o is the third-best player in the world. I still consider myself the best,” the Cameroonian added.
Ronaldinho finished first in the FIFA World Player of the Year vote back then, Eto’o only completed the top 3.
The 2005/06 season was Eto’o’s best at Barca. He scored 33 goals and delivered 10 assists that term.
