Barca now ready to pay Nico Williams’ release clause – just one obstacle left

According to a report by Sport, Barcelona are on the verge of signing Athletic Club winger Nico Williams after reaching an agreement to pay his release clause.

The deal is expected to be finalised next week, pending the player’s final approval. Williams has reportedly expressed his love for Athletic Club but is unwilling to miss the opportunity to join Barcelona.

Nico wanted guarantees that he could be registered and Barca believe that there would be no problems for him to be able to play the first league game in August.
