'Amazing to have a player like this': Hansi Flick hails unsung hero in Bilbao win, not Lamine

Lamine Yamal scored what was an outrageous goal in Barcelona’s 2-1 win against Athletic Bilbao and was later named Man of the Match.

But the unsung hero for Hansi Flick was Raphinha.

“Raphinha can play in any position of the attack. It’s amazing for us to have a player like this,” Flick told DAZN after the game.

“For us, Raphinha always starts the pressure. The dynamism he brings to the rest of the players is invaluable.

“I didn’t expect to see him press that much. He covers the entire pitch for 90 minutes. He’s in very good form,” Flick added.

Raphinha did not score or assist any of Barca’s goals against Bilbao but his overall performance was a pleasant watch.

The Brazilian forward started in a number 10 role against Bilbao and was brilliant with his pressing, recording three tackles and two interceptions.

What’s more, Raphinha created three big chances and played three key passes.
