Barcelona consider two senior players as ‘untouchables’ in Flick’s squad – one is Lewandowski
Barcelona have surprised many by trying to push Ilkay Gundogan out of the squad only one year after signing him.
As per Cope journalist Victor Navarro, the Blaugrana have only considered two experienced players to be untouchables.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Robert Lewandowski were the only veterans that the club did not even think of selling this summer. Both are key members of Hansi Flick’s squad.
Barca had hoped to sell Ronald Araujo this summer but failed to do so due to his injury. They can’t pressurize Raphinha into leaving after failing to sign Nico Williams.
In the end, the Blaugrana felt that selling Gundogan was the right move. The club needs to offload players to make space for registering new signings.
