Barcelona return to 1:1 transfer rule – multiple reports

Barcelona are back to the 1:1 transfer rule in spending, according to multiple reports.

This was made possible after the club signed a deal with Aramark, receiving the €40m they were expected to get last summer when German company Libero refused to pay it.

Barca are also set to receive €60m for their future sponsorship agreement with Nike soon.

Basically, the 1:1 rule means that the club are able to spend every cent of the fee they receive for selling a player. For example, if Barca sell Ansu Fati for €55m, they will be allowed to spend all of this money on signing a new player – like Nico Williams. Earlier this summer, they were only able to spend 25 per cent of the incoming fees.

This news serves as a boost for Barca’s chances of signing both Dani Olmo and Nico Williams this month. However, the latter’s decision on his future is yet to be known.
