Barcelona to request fresh loan to meet Nico Williams release clause

Barcelona have identified Nico Williams as their top priority for the summer transfer window. However, financial constraints may pose a challenge to securing his signature.

Despite President Joan Laporta’s assurances that the club can afford Williams, Barcelona are considering taking out a new loan to cover his €58 million release clause and registration costs.

This would be in addition to a previously negotiated €100 million loan to cover last season’s losses.

Director Deco has met with Williams’ agent, and while the meeting yielded positive results, the club acknowledges that much work remains to be done to guarantee the player’s arrival.

Barcelona must act quickly to avoid complications with the transfer. The club’s financial situation is a concern, with multiple loans already taken out.

Securing another loan to sign Williams will require careful negotiation to ensure a convincing deal. Nevertheless, Barcelona remains committed to bringing the talented winger to the Camp Nou.
