Can Barcelona register Dani Olmo now that Gundogan left?

Barcelona splashed over €60 million to sign European champion Dani Olmo, but nearly two weeks after his official signing, he still isn’t registered with La Liga and remains ineligible to play.

With Ilkay Gundogan leaving for Manchester City and giving up his hefty salary, fans are wondering if this will finally allow Olmo to be registered.

And the answer is… not yet. The Catalans still haven’t met the 1:1 rule, even with the imminent departure of Gundo and Vitor Roque — who isn’t part of the official squad now and therefore doesn’t affect the situation.

So, to register Olmo, Barca will need to offload at least one more player, and that is likely to be Mika Faye, who has received three official bids from other clubs. It’s just a matter of time before he accepts one.
