Gerard Romero reveals why Deco didn’t travel to US with Barca – it has to do with Nico

Nico Williams has been the hottest topic at Barcelona this summer, as they are keen on signing the Athletic Bilbao winger.

Reports from Spain suggest the Catalans have the full €60 million (including taxes) ready to secure the transfer. However, they’re still waiting for Nico’s response to their proposal.

And, according to Gerard Romero, Barca will hear back soon enough, as Nico has completed his vacation and is on his way to Bilbao already.

For this reason, Barca’s sporting director Deco didn’t travel with the team to the USA on Sunday. He’s staying in Europe to finalise the deal – if Nico gives the green light, of course.
