Jim Harbaugh offers Super Bowl quarterback Colin Kaepernick coaching job with Chargers
Kaepernick still has dreams of returning to the NFL

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – According to NBC Sports, former University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has offered Colin Kaepernick a role on his current staff with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Kaepernick led Harbaugh to his lone appearance in his quest for the Vince Lombardi Trophy when the San Francisco 49ers fell to brother John Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl XLVII 34-31.

Harbaugh has advocated for Kaepernick’s reintegration into the National Football League, where he played his final 12 games with the 49ers during the 2016 season.
During his final season in the NFL, Kaepernick completed 196 passes for 2,241 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also carried the pigskin 69 times for 469 yards and two touchdowns, with his longest run topping off at 30 yards.

Kaepernick has been out of the NFL for eight years now due to taking a knee during the national anthem before games to protest racial injustice and police brutality against African Americans.
The former quarterback says he still hopes to play in the league, and now that the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles will have flag football, that too might be an option for him to get back on the gridiron while also representing his country for Team USA.

While bringing the men in maize back to dominance, Harbaugh still looked out for his former quarterback as he let Kaepernick put on a throwing exhibition during the Michigan Wolverines Spring Game in Ann Arbor in 2022.
With the plantar fasciitis injury to Chargers star quarterback Justin Herbert with Kaepernick already in the building (If he accepts the job), Harbaugh may insert him back into the QB1 position.
