'Let them focus': Hansi Flick not satisfied with Barca's tika-taka tradition

Last season there were many games where Barcelona outplayed their opponents but found themselves holding the short stick in defeat.

For new Barca manager Hansi Flick, the team has to be more direct in finding the net above anything else.

“Here [at Barca] the tradition is the one-touch game, but I also want them to go directly to the goal,” Flick said in his interview with Barca One.

“Let them focus a little more on scoring. I think my style doesn’t have any big changes. I’m looking for the same thing, pressing very high, and playing in the opponent’s half of the field. But, at the end of the day, you have to win.

“If you train at 80 per cent, you will never be able to perform 100 per cent in the game,” Flick added.

Real Madrid scored eight more goals than Barcelona last season in La Liga. Even third-placed Girona scored six more goals than Barca.

It probably points to why Barca finished the season trophyless.
