Following his exit from Barcelona, the 36-year-old joined Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year deal before moving to MLS side Inter Miami in the summer of 2023.

In a candid interview with Infobae, Messi shared his views on the current football landscape, naming Real Madrid and Manchester City as the best teams globally.

Guardiola’s Manchester City exited this season’s Champions League at the quarter-final stage, falling to Real Madrid on penalties after a thrilling 4-4 aggregate draw over two legs.

This defeat ended City’s defence of their European title, with Madrid advancing to eliminate Bayern Munich in the semi-finals and ultimately triumphing over Borussia Dortmund in the final.

In 2020, Messi and Guardiola nearly reunited when the forward sought to leave Barcelona. Manchester City emerged as the frontrunners for his signature, but Messi remained at Camp Nou for one more season until his contract expired.
