Lionel Messi Provides Major Update on Soccer Future
Soccer superstar Lionel Messi, who’s currently playing for Inter Miami in the MLS, said on Wednesday that his current club will likely be his last. Messi told ESPN that there is “not a lot of time left” in his career, one that began an incredible 20 years ago.

Barcelona won 10 La Liga titles across Messi’s career, and they won Champions League four times, with Messi scoring 120 goals for Barcelona in the competition. After Barcelona, Messi left for Paris Saint-Germain, where he spent two seasons. PSG won Ligue 1 both years but failed to win a Champions League title.

“I’ve done this all of my life; I love playing ball. I enjoy the practices and the day-to-day, the games. Yeah, there’s a bit of fear that it’s all ending. It’s always there. It was a difficult step leaving Europe to come here,” Messi said. The fact we won the World Cup helped, it helped a lot, to see things in another way. But I try not to think about it. I try to enjoy it. I do that more now because I’m aware that there’s not a lot of time left. So I have a good time with the club, being lucky having good teammates and friends at my side.”
Messi has already established himself as one of the greatest soccer players ever and has made a serious case to be considered the greatest of all time. He’s accomplished everything there is to accomplish and has won at every level.
