Manuel Neuer makes another big mistake – Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s reaction spotted

Manuel Neuer has had a really poor save attempt in a friendly against Greece.

The shot wasn’t really powerful and Neuer should’ve easily caught the ball with his hands; instead, he caused a lucky rebound for Greece.

Shortly afterwards, Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s face was caught on the camera.

Earlier, Germany head coach, Julian Nagelsmann, confirmed Neuer will be the team’s first-choice goalkeeper at the Euros. This didn’t sit well with Ter Stegen who called the situation ‘a slap in the face’ despite accepting Nagelsmann’s decision.

Although Ter Stegen hasn’t had the best season, he still beat Neuer in multiple goalkeeping metrics and also had a fantastic 2022/23 campaign; besides, Neuer’s terrible mistake led to Bayern Munich’s Champions League elimination. However, Nagelsmann has opted for the more experienced option.

Ter Stegen is yet to play a single game at the World Cup or the European Championships.

Euro 2024 will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14. Germany face Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland in the group stage.
