Mariska Hargitay Sparkles in $612 Self-Portrait Dress: ‘Serving Some Sequins’
Mariska Hargitay is sparkling in silver!
On Tuesday night, the Law & Order: SVU star joined past and present cast members to attend the series’ 25th anniversary celebration in New York City.
Hargitay, 59, arrived in a Self-Portrait twisted sequined midi dress — which currently retails for $612. She paired the sparkling ensemble with a pair of strappy black heels, crystal drop earrings, two silver statement rings, a set of silver bracelets on one wrist and a diamond tennis bracelet on the other.
The actress’ glam included a soft brown eyeshadow look with a deep nude lipstick and soft beachwave curls..
She was joined on the red carpet by her husband of almost 20 years, actor Peter Hermann. The Blue Bloods actor, 56, wore a dark teal suede suit jacket with a white collared shirt and a pair of black jeans.
While on the red carpet, the actress joked with Entertainment Tonight and shared how she was “serving some sequins.”
Ahead of the season 25 premiere on Thursday, Hargitay recently spoke with PEOPLE about celebrating the NBC series and turning 60 this month.
During the conversation, she exclusively shared with PEOPLE what it’s like to celebrate 25 years as her Law & Order: SVU character, Olivia Benson.
“I have two diametrically opposed answers. One is I can’t believe it’s been 25 years, a quarter of a century! And the other is, I can’t see it any other way,” shared the actress.
“I can’t imagine the show ending, and can’t imagine not going on this journey with my cast, my crew. I have so much to look forward to. And I’m still growing. I like that you can be so many things at one time. It’s learning to give yourself permission to be all of yourself.”
“The age thing was never something I was scared of,” Hargitay told PEOPLE. “I didn’t get cast [on SVU] until I was 35 and then the show kept going as I aged. At 45, we’d been on for ten years and I just met my husband [when Hermann had a guest role on the show.] The man of my dreams. I got married at 40. I had August [her eldest son] at 42. So it was like defying all the odds.”
“I won an Emmy [in 2006] and all these major things kept happening. I didn’t take anything for granted,” added the actress. “I’m counting my lucky stars. How did I get here? And why does nobody care how old I am?”
