Martin Braithwaite reportedly considers buying Barca's rival club

Martin Braithwaite thinks of becoming Espanyol’s biggest shareholder, according to Marca’s Diego Pico.

The Dane is said to be unhappy with the club’s current owners who made him a ‘disrespectful’ contract offer in 2023. Braithwaite has now left Espanyol to join Brazilian club Gremio, the one Luis Suarez played for.

The 33-year-old is deeply invested in real estate business. He is considered one of the richest footballers in the world, even though he himself denied those rumours.

Braithwate played for Barcelona from 2020 to 2022, making 58 appearances and recording 15 goal contributions as a forward. He finished last season as Segunda’s top scorer, leading Espanyol to promotion.
